Laser therapy, otherwise known as photobiomodulation, is a treatment modality I have been working with for over 5 years. Laser therapy is the emission of light at a particular wavelength that is absorbed by damaged tissues (muscles, nerves or bones). The cells then convert the photons into energy, improving circulation and decreasing inflammation and pain. Laser can be used for a number of conditions, including skin/ear infections, arthritis, post-operative, and neurologic disease. In an ideal situation, laser therapy is most beneficial when performed 2-3 times weekly, but that can be both expensive and time consuming. If you think your pet would benefit from laser therapy, contact me for an at-home option!
